ACCESS CAREERS has an experienced faculty with diverse educational and clinical backgrounds. Students receive hands-on training in fully-equipped classrooms and laboratories at the Nassau County Campus in Hempstead, NY or Suffolk County Campus in Islandia NY of Access Careers.
A position as a Certified Nurse Assistant opens the door to many other career opportunities in the expanding health care field. Graduates of ACCESS CAREERS’ Nurse Assisting program work in skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and adult homes where they perform basic nursing functions and procedures relating to personal hygiene, safety, nutrition, exercise, vital signs and communication needs under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Upon successful completion of the ACCESS CAREERS program, which is approved by the New York State Department of Education, a student qualifies to take the Nurse Aide Competency Exam. In order to sit for this examination, candidates must present current government-issued photo ID with signature or current signature ID. Graduates who pass this exam are entitled to work in health care facilities as a CNA and are listed in the NYS registry.
